The Globalcote waterproof membrane range is made up of Elastacote, our standard coating and Infracote, infrared reflective coating.
Shieldseal CT401

Premcoat Metal Primer
A Pure acrylic blend formulated with anti-corrosion properties, rust inhibitors and added adhesion properties, this is perfect for use as a sealer on metal roof surfaces where there is surface rust across the substrate, resisting bleed through on top coats.
Shieldseal GTP - Primer for Glazed and Unglazed Terraccota tiles
Shieldseal GTP is a revolutionary water-based primer, providing guaranteed adhesion to glazed and un-glazed terracotta roof tiles. Formulated using state of the art adhesion promoters, Shieldseal GTP is the most advanced undercoat on the market. Once fully cured, Shieldseal GTP forms such a strong bond with the tile surface, that it cannot be scratched off. When used as part of Shieldcoat’s Nanoprotect coating system, Shieldseal GTP is covered by a 12 year manufacturers warranty.
Roofbond Coating System
Shieldcoat’s Roofbond coating systems are manufactured to withstand Australia’s unique and demanding climate, using an all acrylic binder specifically recommended for roof refurbishment applications. Shieldcoat has chosen the best resin available on the market for this product. The criteria for Shieldcoat’s choice is based on the resin’s characteristics including durability, wet adhesion properties, gloss retention, low dirt pick up, low water sensitivity and through dry capabilities.
Shieldseal W Plus
Shieldseal W Plus is a waterbased primer used on metal roofs including colorbond to provide an interface between the substrate and the Roofbond Roof membrane. It is normally sprayed through an airless as a milky white liquid and it dries clear. If the surface is likely to rust or white rust, Rustshield W should be used instead.
Rustshield W
Rustshield W Is a state of the art water based acrylic anti-rust sealer/primer for use on all metal roof substrates. It provides an excellent interface for either the Roofbond Roof Membrane or Thermobond HRC. Rustshield W has many advantages when compared to solvent based anti-rust primers and traditional spot treating methods, and It’s superior performance has been proven time and time again since its introduction more than 12 years ago.
Thermobond Heat Reflective Roof Membrane
Thermobond has been used as a solution for electricity cost and heat reduction throughout Australia and the world. Significant interior temperature reduction is achieved on anything from piggeries/chicken sheds to shipping containers and even silos. Thermobond can be applied to anything that would benefit from a reduction in temperatures as a result of direct sunlight.
Thermobond operates on three levels, solar reflectivity, very high heat emissivity and membrane thickness. This means Thermobond does not allow the passage of heat from the sun to reach the substrate it has been installed on.

Under normal weather conditions, roof coats should last up to 20 years.
A complete roof repaint will usually take between 1-2 days depending on whether your roof will need repairs such as tile replacement or cleaning. Final coating may also take an entire day to finish since each coat will have a drying time of up to 2 hours.
Roof repaints and restorations will definitely increase your home’s property value and will give you an edge against other home sellers once you decide to put up your home for sale on the property market.
Though it can vary depending on the extent of the damage, it is usually cheaper and more cost-effective to repair a roof and re-paint it, rather than replacing it altogether.
Yes, painting and sealing your terracotta or cement tiles can help to ensure your roof is watertight and therefore better protected from rain.
Sealing your cement tiles after painting will help the colour stay vibrant and fade-resistant for longer. It can also improve the strength of the tile.
Whether you need to sand your terracotta tiles will depend on the paint you use and whether the tiles have been glazed. If your chosen paint product recommends sanding paint glaze prior to painting, ensure all sandpaper dust is clear from a tile before painting it. This will ensure your tiles are smooth and flawless when painted.
Repainting your tiles will return them to a like-new condition and remove signs of weather damage and wear.
It is typically more efficient to paint tiles with a small brush, rather than a roller, as this offers more precision.
If tiles are primed, painted and sealed correctly, paint should not peel off them. It is also important to use high-quality paint that is specially designed for use on tiles.
Cement tiles should be replaced before painting. This will ensure all tiles on your roof are the same shade and you do not waste paint on damaged or broken tiles.
Usually, acrylic-based paints are best suited for cement tiles.
If your tiles are pitted, porous or dented, you can still paint them, providing you use a sealer or primer before applying any colour or topcoats.
